Vince, Nick, Jake, Jon, Tav, Mike and Nick Richards and Paul Williams
All gathered at the arranged time and venue, signed in at the hotel reception, and then wandered up to the cave entrance tunnel to change ready to go caving.
The digging team – me, Nick, Jon, Jake, Tav – set off for LoH&G first, the tour guests Nick and Paul with Mike as guide followed at a more leisurely rate to fully appreciate the fine cave environment.
At the current dig in LoH&G Jon continued the excavation in a downward spiral with the rest of us hauling and empty the filled bags, the empties returning to Jon for refilling. As ever it was warm work and time passed quickly by until “beer-o’clock!”
The touring team arrived at the dig site and conveyed their admiration of the splendour that is Land of Hope & Glory especially the mineral deposits that are visible throughout the area. They were mightily impressed. Activities concluded we made our way out of the cave to enjoy some refreshment in the ravine to end the session.
Last task was to inform hotel reception we were all out of the cave, then we went our separate ways.
